Obviously the jib was a known quantity to us — and once again it was great, we got a plethora of fantastic images with it -- but the absolute revelation was the Tracker System!
I’m not sure that I have the words to appropriately describe or convey how radically it changed our method of production. The time savings in set-up alone were mind blowing compared to a doorway dolly system with rails and wedges, etc... But the real value was the Trackers’ ease of use and its ability to move once the unit was actually built. I can’t tell you how many times one person — just 1 person! -- moved the complete track from one side of a factory floor to other in minutes... (I’ll admit it’s easier with two people moving it, but still the fact that one person alone could move it is amazing to me and remarkably sped up our shooting)... Simply put we’ve never had a dolly experience that was this nimble before and both Milt and I are total converts! I doubt we will go anywhere without the rig...
I just wanted to drop a quick line to say that once again the Tracker & the Porta Jib were absolutely awesome... We were on a massively rushed timeline and I think we would have been hard pressed to get the shots we wanted and the shots we needed without both systems...
